How does an Academic Life Coach typically charge for the 10-session Academic Life Coaching Program?

The typical Academic Life Coach earns a between $750 and $2500 for each 10-session program. The 10-session Academic Life Coaching Program is the foundation of what a certified coach can offer families. Coaches can also offer additional services according to professional experience and specialty skills. That, along with geographic location and experience level, accounts for the difference in price points coaches set for the program.

Here are some examples:

  • Boston, MA: $2000-$2500
  • Chicago, IL: $1500-2000
  • Los Angels, CA: $1500-$2000
  • New York, NY: $2000-$2500
  • Portland, OR: $1650-$1800
  • Seattle, WA: $1500-$2000

Coaches can also add additional sessions on to the 10-session program, and those are often charged on an hourly basis. This price can range from $50-$150 per session.

What is the salary of an Academic Life Coach?

That depends on how many clients you work with and how often you schedule sessions. A coach can realistically work with a maximum client base of 25 to 40 students, averaging 50 to 80 sessions per month.

In the Fall of 2009, John Williams had 42 active clients. As he said, “It was awesome that I had the ability to coach so many students, but I found that a client base over 40 is a huge challenge to manage with a high level of customer service. A much more comfortable range for me was – and still is – about 25 families.”
